The Historical Outreach Foundation brings history to life through informative, interactive presentations. From Lewis and Clark to Civil War to WWII, with special emphasis on the contributions of veterans and the military to our society, students will experience history in a whole new way.
Lewis and Clark presentations are designed to teach a whole unit in an hour and a half with an interactive powerpoint presentation with a display of touchable items that Lewis and Clark would have taken with them on their expedition or would have encountered along the way.  Some items are a grizzly bear pawprint, a sextant, a uniform jacket and hat along with many other items.
The WWII presentation focuses on Oregon's role during WWII with an indepth look at "Oregon's Own" 41st Infantry Division one of the first National Guard Divisions activated and sent overseas during WWII.  The presentation also tells Oregon's story about the preparation for the Doolittle Raid in Pendleton, balloon bombs, the bombing of Fort Stevens and the training of troops at Camp Adair in addition to many other interesting stories.
Civil War presentation talks about Oregon's role in the Civil War, but also tells the story about what the soldiers had with them, used and how they entertained themselves.  Many actual and replica items, and the presenter comes in Civil War costume.
